EXPO Milano 2015, Italy

The city of Milano was chosen to host the Universal Exhibition in 2015 at the 143rd General Assembly of BIE on 31 March 2008.

General Theme:

The theme of Expo Milano 2015, which will take place between 1 May and  31 October 2015, is  “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”.

An international event focusing on an extremely important theme for the present, the exhibition will represent a unique meeting place for official participants and an expected 20 million visitors, who will discover and experiment with presentations dedicated both  to tradition, and to creativity and innovation.

The theme of food lends itself to a debate dedicated to finding solutions to the collective challenges that humanity has to cope with, including the right to healthy and safe nutrition.

The four central elements of the exhibition – food, energy, planet, life – can be traced among the Romania’s Government priorities: agriculture, energy, infrastructure, innovation and creativity.

Participating countries:

So far more than 140 states have announced their participation in Expo Milano 2015, of which more than 120 designated their general commissioners. Romania is the 5th state officially registered for this international exhibition and the 81st state to have signed the participation contract.

Allocation of the exhibition space:

Romania’s Pavilion, designated as S30, will be built on a 887 square-meter surface, in the central zone of the exhibition site.

The allocation of spaces within the exhibition site to participating countries has been completed, more than 60 states choosing the self-built  pavilion variant.

On 16 December 2013, the organizers of Expo Milano 2015 made available the lots to official participants assigned to the eastern part of the exhibition site, respectively: Switzerland, France, Germany, China, Japan, and Romania.
