The legal framework of Romania’s participation is stipulated in Government Decision no. 115/2011 concerning approval of Romania’s participation in the World Exhibition 2015 “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” in Milan, Italy, as subsequently amended.

The Commissioner General of the Romanian Section for Expo Milano 2015 was appointed under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 214 of 14 May 2013.

On 20 November 2013 was approved G.D. no. 896 amending Government Decision no. 115/2011 concerning approval of Romania’s participation in the World Exhibition 2015 „Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, Milan, Italy.

The contract of Romania’s participation in Expo Milano 2015 was signed on 6 December 2013, during the ceremonies organized by Consulate General in Milan to mark the National Day of Romania, in the presence of a large Romanian and Italian public and benefiting from the presence of the consular representatives accredited in Italy.

The participation contract – the standard document, intended to establish a general legal framework of participation, obliging the parties to fully comply with the General and Special Regulations of the Exhibition, as they were approved by the International Exhibitions Bureau – was signed by the Commissioner General of the Romanian Section, Georgian Ghervasie, and by the Expo 2015 Director General for international participants, Stefano Gatti.

Based on those actions, premises were created for starting the work of the Organizing Commission, which is to coordinate the process of developing the participation concept.
