10th edition Foreign Affairs Open

Bucharest, Diplomatic Club, 16 - 24 June 2012

The FOREIGN AFFAIRS OPEN 2012 will take place  at the Diplomatic Club between the 16 and 24 June.

Now at its 10th edition, the Foreign Affairs Open will comprise the well-established competitions – football, basketball, badminton, tennis and table tennis – as well as chess.

Enrollment for the competitions is open until 13 June, and the drawing of lots for each competition will take place on 14 June.

The Foreign Affairs Open promotes fair-play and mutual respect between people, countries and different cultures. By its very concept, the Foreign Affairs Open contributes to strengthening interpersonal relationships between Romanian and foreign diplomats and to promoting Romania in the ranks of foreign diplomatic staff accredited to Bucharest, helping better understanding of diplomatic activity and of the role other actors – such as private companies - play in promoting a country.

Organised for the first time in 2003, the Foreign Affairs Open has become one of the best liked public events of the diplomatic community in Bucharest.

In a globalized world where diplomacy plays a key role in fostering the national interest, the Foreign Affairs Open is an initiative addressing the diplomatic corps, the business environment and the general public.

The awards ceremony is to be held at the Diplomatic Club on 28 June.
