Condolence message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu addressed to Albanian counterpart, Gent Cakaj

Minister Bogdan Aurescu sent a message of condolence to Gent Cakaj, Minister-in-Office for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, following the devastating earthquakes that took place in the Republic of Albania on the morning of the November 26, 2019, that resulted in 18 dead and about 600 injured and considerable material damage.

In his message, the Romanian minister of Foreign Affairs sent sincere condolences to the bereaved families and to the whole Albanian people, as well as wishes of quick recovery for the hundreds of injured persons.

Minister Aurescu mentioned in his message the rapid reaction of the Romanian side, by urgently sending a search and rescue team from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, with equipment and intervention technique, which was sent to the Republic of Albania with two airplanes made available by the Ministry of National Defence, and expressed all willingness of our country to support in the following period, too, according to the requests of Albanian officials.
