Romania and Palau have agreed to establish diplomatic relations

At the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations in New York, the signing ceremony of the joint release on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and the State of Palau took place on 16 February 2018.

The document was signed by Romania's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Ion Jinga, and from the Palau State, by the Permanent Representative of Palau to the UN, Ambassador Ngedikes Olai Uludong.

This approach complements the actions of the Romanian diplomacy aimed at strengthening the bilateral political relations with the Caribbean and Oceania states.

By establishing diplomatic relations between Romania and Palau, the number of countries with which Romania has diplomatic relations reached 189, out of which 186 UN member states.
